Clean up day so I'm hanging at the house.

The Cats haven't quite figured out the concept of cleaning. Why everything gets moved from room to room. Besides, they can't help because they don't have thumbs.

Day 23 - Catz love Truckz

Wait a minute that was Dogs and that was a datsun (nissan for the younger folks) commercial.

Buffy is a good cat. She's an indoor cat but likes to go outside with the humans every so often. She even likes to go outside in her little cat stroller (weird if you ask me). We have two other indoor cats that we fear are runners if they become scared, we don't think Buffy would dart off.

I actually have a better pose (Shawn likes it better) but being the left handed virgo I am, I just couldn't get it sharp enough. Buffy was peeking around the corner of the bed and I caught her tounge liking her nose.

Note to Self: When shooting pictures of the moon at night. Remember to change your camera from those weird manual settings, including timer mode, back to what you normally shoot so you can catch that once in a lifetime candid.

Day 34 - Buffy was Here!

Buffy the TP Slayer...Is it just my cat or are there others out there that hate toilet paper? Not the simple sit on the commode and unroll the roll fun, but a full on "Seek and Destroy" kind of dislike.

Here Buffy (might of had help from her sister the locksmith cat who opens cabinets) retrieved a roll from under the sink and destroyed it...this is a square crop PAD, but would have taken a wide angle to see how widespread the destruction was.

Day 16 - Mountain Man

Or a question on thirds. For the "Rule of thirds" buffs out there; Does one crop this shot leaving room in the direction the man is walking or does one crop leaving room in the direction he is looking. As cropped here the man appears to be looking out of the frame.

Day 19 - An IT Archeological Goldmine

Sheesh, what is this place? I haven't been in here for years... The MPoE (Minimum Point of Entry) aka DMarc (demarcation point) as we call it.

You know how ATT leaves yellow pages on your doorstep, the ones that no one uses, well this is like your door step. Vendors drop Circuits and Phone lines here and then we are supposed to do something with them.

No one ever uses existing lines, can't be using soiled lines don't you know...so we get new lines brought in. No one ever removes their lines when they leave either, let the next guy clean this mess up...

...So imagine if you will 30 years of other peoples crap on this wall. Yes indeed, only about eight pairs of wires leave this room to my extended dmarc (another archeological dig) to control my entire site (phones/data). There are a couple 25pr that go into the ground but I haven't found where those go yet.

The funny thing is that there are live phone lines here (from past tenants) that somebody somewhere is (going to be) paying for and they don't know it yet...that bill will be a shocker when they finally track the co that the line belongs to.

You know I think I will clean this up...when I have time. :)

Day 3 - Starbuck's: The Nectar to the Gods

Ok, so if you have ever had the coffee from my lunch or break room, you would know that the flavor is somewhere between 90 weight motor oil and asphalt. I kid you not I think they import dirt from some remote location in Arizona to make that crap.

That being said:

My office is located in the Executive area of the building and in my own mind I have placed myself high on an executive pedastal; Therefore I should be able to sup from the carafe of goodness, and I do...

I say let the peasants drink the yucky stuff.

Day 20 - Make your own kind of music.

Some companies throw little fun shindig type thingies for their employees every so often, some less often. We fall in the later group...We have taken the matter into our own hands.

Sometimes you have to make your own music and that is what we do... We started a little group called "Chicas Locas" (don't ask why it was all guys when it started) that every Friday one of us brings in enough grillage for the rest in the group. Others bring stuff to go along with it.

This Friday was Wizardry's turn on the grill. The burgers were great...

...the shot not so good. I blew the sky out badly and the over all composition was such a snap shot that I LA'd the heck out of it.

MCAS Miramar 2009 : Like every October in San Diego it is a gamble when you pick only one day to go to the MCAS Miramar Airshow. It is the same every year, three days and only one will give you nice skys and lighting to shoot. We went on Friday and it wasn't the best of skies. None the less shooting or not the Miramar Airshow is great fun.

Wings Over Gillespie 2009 : Good to see "Wings over Gillespie" is back on after taking a year off. Gillespie is a fun little Airshow with a hometown feel to it. The folks that put it on and those in attendance are some of the friendliest people you will meet.

This year's theme: "Salute to D-DAY", celebrating the 65th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion at Normandy.

Diana Plus Experiment : $88 dollar lens and converter on a $2800 camera...OMG. These shots were done with the Diana + 38mm plastic lens and EOS adapter on the 5DmkII. It's a ton of fun to shoot through plastic as it removes one from the world of uber sharp photos. This is my first day out with the Diana +.
