A bunch of the members on DPChallenge are doing another PAD. This time the theme is "Slice of Life" where as we are to take a shot of something we do from day to day. We are to go outside our comfort zone...I've never had a comfort zone so no telling where this will go. You may just see a lot of satirical IT type shots in this one.

Day 20 - Make your own kind of music.
Some companies throw little fun shindig type thingies for their employees every so often, some less often. We fall in the later group...We have taken the matter into our own hands.
Sometimes you have to make your own music and that is what we do... We started a little group called "Chicas Locas" (don't ask why it was all guys when it started) that every Friday one of us brings in enough grillage for the rest in the group. Others bring stuff to go along with it.
This Friday was Wizardry's turn on the grill. The burgers were great...
...the shot not so good. I blew the sky out badly and the over all composition was such a snap shot that I LA'd the heck out of it.
Day 21 - Spirits High (trying to at least)
Day 22 - Ashes to Ashes...
...funk to funky
We know major toms a junkie
Strung out in heavens high
Hitting an all-time low
Ashes are starting to build up...most likely down from Rancho Bernado.
I'm hoping everyone to the North, East and South of me is doing ok... Safe and Sound whether in the comfort of a evac center or back in their homes. Be well my brothers and sisters.
Day 23 - Catz love Truckz
Wait a minute that was Dogs and that was a datsun (nissan for the younger folks) commercial.
Buffy is a good cat. She's an indoor cat but likes to go outside with the humans every so often. She even likes to go outside in her little cat stroller (weird if you ask me). We have two other indoor cats that we fear are runners if they become scared, we don't think Buffy would dart off.
I actually have a better pose (Shawn likes it better) but being the left handed virgo I am, I just couldn't get it sharp enough. Buffy was peeking around the corner of the bed and I caught her tounge liking her nose.
Note to Self: When shooting pictures of the moon at night. Remember to change your camera from those weird manual settings, including timer mode, back to what you normally shoot so you can catch that once in a lifetime candid.
Day 24 - Tiny Bubbles
Bet your IT guy doesn't have a bubble machine :) I don't either, I work in the IT group. The group that keeps on giving (much of their yearly budget back to the CFO like it is some kind of protection program or something).
Working IT is much like being in the Marines, you are never given all the tools to do your job. You learn early not to ask and appropriation is the key to success.
Bubble machine...I found it, Couch in my office...I found it...42" Plasma in my office...yes you guessed it, I found it. Monitors, Printers, Pewter Parts all fair game.
"Darn it Pollard I told you we do not keep hot spares on hand", two weeks later a drive goes bad in one of my raid boxes. The very next day while waiting for the replacement drive to arrive a 2nd drive in the array died... Lights out boys and girls that data is outta here.
We'll just say I have found plenty of drives. That is all.
I like bubble machines...I like having fun.
Day 25 - Silly Ash
Washing the car in the rain. I was going to give it a day or two for all the ashes to settle. Then it started to rain.
I read somewhere that ash plus water equals lye, so I had to get that ash off da ride.
Day 26 - Openning
Not to crazy about the composition, but this is nearly the full frame. Would have liked to have a bit more room on the top.
Day 28 - Strength
As in (cell phone) signal strength, sorry but this really reminded me of the commercials with the how many bars are you getting phrases.
Day 28 - (bonus) White on Blue
The shadows and blue background really enhanced this statue at Mission San Diego.
